British School of Bahrain is proud to deliver the Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award.
Since the Award’s launch 60 years ago, it has inspired millions of young people to transform their lives. By creating opportunities for young people to develop skills, get physically active, give service and experience adventure, the Award can play a critical role in their development outside the classroom.
It also allows their achievement to be consistently recognised worldwide, giving young people unique international accreditation of their experiences. Universities and potential employers around the world recognise these qualifications as valuable assets for students applying for positions on courses, and look favorably upon those who have achieved Bronze, Silver or Gold status.
There are three levels of the Award in which you can participate – Bronze, Silver and Gold, with each successive level demanding increased commitment.
The Sections of the Award
To gain an Award, all four Sections (plus an additional requirement of a Residential Project at Gold level only) must be tackled for the specified minimum period of time. The Sections are:
