The curriculum in juniors is based on Key Stage 2 of the UK National Curriculum, adapted to an international educational environment. We recognise our host country and we incorporate the history, culture and geography of the Kingdom of Bahrain into our programme. All children from Reception to Year 6 are taught Arabic. Arab nationals have Arabic lessons as directed by the Ministry of Education.
We value and promote a lifelong love of learning; our students are highly motivated and eager to make progress. Children are encouraged to be proactive
Student attainment is significantly above UK age-related expectations, monitored by benchmarked, standardised annual assessment in reading, spelling and mathematics. Assessment is continuous throughout Key Stage 2. Formative assessment in English and Mathematics is undertaken during the first term of each school year through the CEM
Children in Years 3 and 4 are taught in classes by generalist teachers, with specialist subject teachers taking care of Arabic, French, music and physical education. In Years 5 and 6, children are introduced to subject-based teaching in readiness for their secondary education.
