Principal

A few words

from our head of school

It is my privilege as the Executive Head teacher to extend a warm welcome to the British School of Bahrain (BSB).  BSB is a happy and exciting place to learn and work, where student-teacher relationships are outstanding and mutually respectful. We believe in placing the student at the center of their own education and that learning is a life-long experience. At BSB we empower and expect our students to strive for excellence, take on responsibility for their own learning and express and celebrate their individuality, hence our school Vision:

Excellence, Responsibility, Individuality

As an international school located in Bahrain, we value and celebrate the rich diversity of the many nationalities, religions, cultures and traditions of all our students and we aim to provide a safe, inclusive and caring environment in which young people can learn to live and work together in a spirit of harmony and mutual respect. We encourage each student to play an active role in school life, both in and out of the classroom.

We follow an English National Curriculum model, which is suitably adapted for the international context of our location and for the 70+ nationalities of our school. BSB has a 23-year history of growth and excellence in British education and is proud to be fully accredited by the Confederation of British International Schools (COBIS). Our school is consistently rated Outstanding by the Bahrain Quality Insurance Inspectorate.

Our mission is to develop well-balanced successful learners who will be equipped to become citizens of the world. With teacher and parental guidance, BSB students will be resourceful, versatile, digitally literate, confident and principled problem-solving thinkers.

Infants

BSB Infant School children are well motivated and come from a range of social and cultural backgrounds. Within the school community, we appreciate the richness of experience that the children bring to school. This enhances the learning experiences of everyone and it also gives all pupils the opportunity to develop respect and tolerance for each other by working and playing together.

Juniors

The BSB Junior School's aim is for children to enjoy a broad and balanced education while taking an active role in their own learning. We deliver a full and exciting curriculum, enriched by a diverse range of after-school activities and support programmes. Throughout the school, we encourage, by expectation and example, a culture of mutual respect and politeness.

Seniors

At the British School we follow the National Curriculum for England and Wales with adaptations to allow for the international nature of our students and also the location of our school in the host nation, the Kingdom of Bahrain.  British School staff are working closely with exam boards on the introduction of new specifications and we are confident in the quality of the provision and individual advice available. We continue to work closely with universities to ensure the qualifications we offer prepare students for higher education and meet entry requirements.
